Paigow Football
Free-to-Play Contest Rules
Points-only H2H and Pool play. Current scoring and card locks follow the gameplay rules.
Draft updated October 28, 2026
Gameplay rules version 1.4.
1. Scope and no purchase
These rules apply to free-to-play Paigow Football H2H matchups and points pools. No purchase or payment is required to enter. These formats do not award a PoolHouse-funded cash prize and may not be used to organize or settle an unlawful wager.
Apple is not a sponsor of, affiliated with, or involved in Paigow Football contests.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Players must satisfy the Terms of Use, use their own account, and be located where the format is lawful. PoolHouse may reject, void, or remove an entry associated with ineligible participation, account sharing, collusion, automation, tampering, or a material rules violation.
3. Entry and card requirements
Each card requires two picks from two different eligible games. Pick 1 selects an eligible team to win outright. Pick 2 selects an underdog to cover its saved spread. A points-pool card also requires the displayed tiebreak prediction.
An entry is complete only after PoolHouse records all required selections and confirms submission. Starting a card without completing submission does not create a scored entry.
4. Lines and locks
The spread displayed when a pick is submitted is saved with that selection. Sports data may be supplied by third parties and can differ from another publication. Pool cards, including both picks and the total score guess, are final immediately on submission. H2H cards lock when both players submit or when a selected game begins, whichever happens first. Before that lock, an H2H player may update their card using eligible games.
PoolHouse server time controls. Device clocks, screenshots, or delayed displays do not override the server record. An entry received after an applicable game begins may be rejected or voided.
5. Scoring
Current H2H and Pool cards use the same points grid, with a maximum of 220 points per card. In H2H the higher completed card wins; the point balance records the difference. Equal cards push. Historical H2H matchups keep their saved original ruleset and are not recalculated.
Pick 1 awards the points assigned to the saved spread when the team wins outright. Pick 2 awards 50 points for a cover, plus the applicable dog bonus only when the selected underdog also wins outright. A Pick 2 push earns zero points. The current point bands and bonus table appear in the Paigow gameplay rules, incorporated here.
6. Reveal and standings
Season rankings are separate from friend rivalry results. Submitted H2H and Pool selections contribute to one season record, including existing saved submissions. The same player’s repeated selection of the same team, league and pick type within a weekly slate counts once across contests. Outright-winner and underdog-cover selections are separate types. The first submitted line determines the record result when duplicate selections have different saved spreads. Contest cards and their individual results remain unchanged. A player’s own H2H card counts even if the opponent does not finish. Rankings use correct picks divided by decided picks, with 20 decided picks to rank. Each pick counts when its game is final; pushes are listed but excluded from accuracy and qualification. Equal unrounded percentages share rank. New weeks never reset the record, and the slate’s season year controls the season boundary. Unfinished selections remain private, and private Pool pick details retain their Pool access restrictions. Corrected final scores update season accuracy automatically.
In H2H, both complete cards are revealed to both players after both players submit. If only one player submits, the matchup may become a no contest.
Pool standings show both picks and the total score guess from complete submitted cards. Only players who have submitted a complete card may view the Live field, including commissioners and after the pool closes. Live scores are provisional. Final rank is determined after relevant games are final and grading completes.
7. Pool ties
Pool rank is ordered by card points and then by distance from the actual combined score of the designated tiebreak game. The closer prediction ranks higher. If players remain tied, they share the same competition rank unless the pool conditions announce another free-to-play resolution before entry.
8. Postponed, cancelled, and changed games
A game that starts and receives an official final result is graded from that result. If a game is cancelled, abandoned, postponed outside the weekly scoring window, lacks a reliable final result, or contains a material listing error, PoolHouse may void the affected pick, treat the card as incomplete, extend grading, or declare a no contest. The same treatment will be applied consistently to similarly affected entries.
9. Official results and corrections
PoolHouse grades from the official or reasonably authoritative result available through its data providers. PoolHouse may correct or resettle an obvious score, spread, team, calculation, or data-provider error within a reasonable period.
10. H2H no contest
Both players must submit complete cards for an H2H matchup to count. If either player does not submit a complete card, the matchup is a no contest and does not affect the rivalry record or unit balance.
11. Integrity decisions
PoolHouse may investigate suspected exploitation, collusion, duplicate accounts, unauthorized automation, falsified information, or interference. A materially affected entry may be disqualified or a contest may be paused, corrected, or voided. Players may request review through Paigow Support.
12. Rule versions
The rules and scoring version displayed when a pool opens should govern that pool. PoolHouse may make prospective changes between slates. A material mid-contest change should be limited to correcting an error, complying with law, protecting integrity, or resolving a situation the published rules did not address.
